Description (English)
-
-
Chronicles of Heat is a citizen science project that actively involves local residents in identifying the urban areas most affected by extreme heat in the metropolitan area of Barcelona. During the summer of 2024, it has been implemented in various vulnerable neighborhoods. The meeting will discuss the results at the metropolitan level with the participation of those involved and various actors in territorial management.
The project is supported by twelve organizations, including libraries, educational centers, neighborhood groups, and NGOs. Over three hundred participants have contributed across five territories and four municipalities: the neighborhoods of Congrés and Indians and Sant Pere, Santa Caterina, and la Ribera in Barcelona; Collblanc and la Torrassa in Hospitalet de Llobregat; and the municipalities of Sant Vicenç dels Horts and Montcada i Reixac.
Organized by: Canòdrom and OpenSystems, resident project.

Chronicles of Heat is a citizen science project that documents extreme heat in public space and at the micro-scale, hand in hand with the most affected neighborhoods and taking into account their knowledge on the ground as public space users. During the summer of 2024, more than 450 participants have contributed to the research in five territories and four municipalities: the neighborhoods of Congrés i els Indians and Sant Pere, Santa Caterina and la Ribera in Barcelona; Collblanc-El Torreón in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat; and the municipalities of Sant Vicenç dels Horts and Montcada i Reixac.
This event aims to share experiences among participants, share the lessons learned from the project, present interim results of each municipality and transversally among municipalities and discuss future steps of the project.
Organized by: Canòdrom and OpenSystems, resident project.
