Class differences at the Canódromo
🎙️ Collective documentation
The participants in the collective documentation highlight four aspects: the large number of people who attended the dog track, the elegance and details in the clothing of some of the individuals depicted, the class difference, and the various uses and projects that have been given to this space. They assume that the photograph corresponds to some special event and agree that the presence of the Guardia Urbana dressed in formal attire is a symbol of the realization of an event of high importance. Likewise, they sense the presence of some political delegate.
The elegance and clothing of some of the individuals in the image guide much of the analysis. Aspects such as the hairstyle of some women ("I think the hairstyle of the brunette lady was called something like, Arriba España or something like that..."), the shoes, or the suits, would be indicative of the purchasing power of the people wearing them.
Notably, the people behind the fence show a different aspect. One participant again notices the hairstyles of the women, unlike those inside the fence, it doesn't seem like they just came out of the hair salon. This leads our participants to agree that there is a marked social difference ("the class difference at the time was significant..."). Finally, they highlight the various projects and uses that have been assigned to the canódromo and express a desire for it to remain active for the public, especially the cinema in summer.
