No registration requiredWe kick off the 2024 open-air cinema season by traveling to 1980s New York with “Robot Dreams”, a tender story of friendship between a dog and a robot. Next, we transport ourselves to Seville in 1977 with “Te estoy amando locamente”, a film about overcoming adversity and the fight for freedom. We dive into two movies that explore the infinite worlds of the multiverse and provide tools to resist control systems: “Everything Everywhere All At Once”, a fantastic film that invites us to rethink the true value of things, and “Matrix”, a cult classic that defined a generation and revolutionized the way we view science fiction.
Organized by District of Sant Andreu and Canòdrom – Ateneu d’Innovació Digital i Democràtica, every Friday from July 5 to 26, the Canòdrom square transforms into a giant screen where stories come to life and transport us to distant worlds. This year’s sessions promise emotions, surprises, and a unique cinematic experience.

Seville, 1977. Reme is proud that her son Miguel is about to become the first university student in the family. However, Miguel’s true dream is to be an artist and sing in a popular TV contest. In a Spain where homosexuality is still a crime, Reme discovers her son’s new friends: the emerging LGTBI movement in Andalusia, paradoxically born within the Church.
Featuring well-known actors like Omar Banana, Ana Wagner, and Alba Flores, director Alejandro Marín tells the story of the rise of the LGTBIQ+ movement in Andalusia. In 1977, homosexuality was still a penal crime and persecuted under the Law of Social Danger and Rehabilitation, but Remi, a mother with initially conservative views, becomes involved in the nascent LGTBI movement for the love of her son.

Matrix
- Lilly Wachowski, Lana Wachowski, United States, 2022, 131 min
- Original version in English with Catalan subtitles

Neo is a software programmer who leads a double life as a hacker. His world is shaken when he receives a message on his computer: “Matrix has you.” From that moment, mysterious agents start pursuing him. Morpheus, another hacker, reveals that the reality he knows is a simulation created by machines to control humanity. According to Morpheus, Neo is “The One” destined to free humanity from this oppression.
We bring back the cult classic by the Wachowski sisters, who play with the fluid boundary between reality and fiction, with endless twists and surprises. A highly relevant film for today’s times, it depicts a future where, after a harsh war, nearly all humans have been enslaved by machines and the artificial intelligences they created.
