On the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, celebrated every March 21, the Local Group of Amnesty International Barcelona is organizing a round table to reflect on structural racism and the strategies available to racialized people and civil society to confront this discriminatory situation. The session will be recorded as a podcast to be listened to later, keeping the debate alive about this deeply rooted reality in our society that affects so many people.
The round table will feature speakers who will speak from a personal perspective and with extensive experience on the subject:
Nadia Hafid, illustrator and writer. Winner of the 2024 Finestres Award for Catalan Comics for the work 'Mala Olor'.
Mariam Dahman, member of Prollema, a project working with young migrants alone in situations of severe social exclusion for their labor and educational integration.
Natalia Mecias, expert in anti-racist training from the association Casa da Gente, a Brazilian civil society space dedicated to welcoming people in vulnerable situations.
The discussion will be moderated by Úrsula Ruiz Cabello, policy advocacy lead for migration and border issues at Irídia-Center for the Defense of Human Rights.
