Changes at "Decidim Fest 2025: Building Technology as a Common Good"

We live in a world where big tech corporations dominate our digital lives and authoritarianism seems to be on the rise. That’s why it's more urgent than ever to ask: who controls the technology we use every day? How can we ensure that technology remains open, fair, and serves everyone? What policies are needed to make digital commons sustainable and protected? And how can we transform digital infrastructures to work for social good rather than corporate interests?

This year, Decidim Fest is part of Barcelona Open Tech Week and is held in collaboration with Mozilla Foundation.

Vivimos en un mundo donde las grandes corporaciones tecnológicas dominan nuestras vidas digitales y el autoritarismo parece avanzar. Por eso, nunca había sido tan urgente preguntarnos quién controla la tecnología que usamos cada día. ¿Cómo podemos garantizar que la tecnología sea abierta, justa y al servicio de todas las personas? ¿Qué políticas deben impulsarse para que los bienes comunes digitales sean sostenibles y estén protegidos? ¿Y cómo podemos transformar las infraestructuras digitales para que trabajen por el bien social y no por intereses corporativos?
