In the face of digital sexist violence, cyberfeminists have for decades been fighting back with art, technology and critical thinking to reclaim digital spaces. From this lineage springs “The personal is digital, the digital is political”, an initiative by Més Donestech, a multidisciplinary offshoot of the Barcelona-based Donestech collective, in collaboration with Fembloc to place the body at the centre, and on the screen too.
This exhibition by Fembloc invites us to transform the digital space into a place of resistance, healing and collective reappropriation. Four performative and visual pieces that address digital violence from its political, emotional and bodily dimensions, through a collective process involving artists, technologists and activists.
The project culminates in an exhibition that will bring together visual materials, traces and documents from the creative processes, transforming the exhibition space into an immersive territory of resistance, healing and reappropriation. Performance and exhibition will engage in dialogue to imagine feminist digital futures where the body ceases to be an object of control and becomes a collective, critical and indomitable force.
