Reparing to extend life
This is a face-to-face workshop only
Did you know that an iPhone 12 generates 70 kg of CO2 throughout its lifespan? According to a recent study by the European Union, it is estimated that 54% of emissions from technological devices are generated during manufacture, 44% during use, and 1% during distribution and treatment as waste. As we live in a time of climate and resources crisis, how to compensate the environmental offset of our devices? How to extend its life to the maximum to amortize carbon emissions?
In this workshop with Mireia Roura from eReuse and the Andròmines collective we get to know the pieces which our electronic devices are build of and where they come from to understand their environmental and social impact. In addition, we will learn how to repair and replace damaged parts to extend their lifespan and put solutions from a responsible consumption point of view.
