¿Por dónde empieza una ciudad? Quizás por las baldosas que pisamos. O por los cables que hay debajo. O por los datos que se generan cada vez que abrimos una app para coger un patinete o una bicicleta. Las ciudades son mucho más que edificios. Son infraestructuras, redes, decisiones sobre quién puede habitar dónde y cómo.
En esta primera sesión queremos abrir preguntas. ¿Cómo afecta la crisis climática a la manera en que vivimos en las ciudades? ¿Y qué tienen que ver las infraestructuras digitales invisibles? La arquitecta Gemma Barricarte nos explicará qué esconden y qué muestran las ciudades contemporáneas. Radical Data, proyecto residente en el Canòdrom, y elii, Oficina de Arquitectura, compartirán experimentos en espacios urbanos donde la tecnología y la preocupación por el medio ambiente se cruzan.

¿Qué ocurre realmente cuando abres una página web o envías un mensaje? Internet no es una nube etérea. Son cables, cajas, edificios anónimos, playas y mares donde se entierran las conexiones submarinas. Infraestructura física que pasa desapercibida en el corazón de la ciudad. Internet Tour es un recorrido por los lugares que nadie visita. Los puntos por los que fluye Internet.
Desde 2018 se han realizado paseos colectivos por diferentes barrios y ciudades para visibilizar estas arquitecturas ocultas, desde los centros de datos en polígonos industriales hasta la arena de la playa, donde yacen los cables que conectan continentes. En esta edición recorreremos los alrededores del Canòdrom para seguir el rastro de Internet hasta las instalaciones. Nos acompañarán el artista visual Mario Santamaria, que ha ideado la ruta, y los arquitectos del Col·lectiu Punt6, tomando notas sobre cómo estas infraestructuras dan forma a nuestra vida cotidiana. Documentaremos la ruta y la publicaremos en línea para que cualquiera pueda seguirla.

Where does a city begin? Perhaps with the tiles we step on. Or with the cables underneath. Or with the data generated every time we open an app to grab a scooter or a bike. Cities are much more than buildings. They are infrastructures, networks, decisions about who can live where and how.
In this first session, we want to open up questions. How does the climate crisis affect the way we live in cities? And what do invisible digital infrastructures have to do with it? Architect Gemma Barricarte will explain what contemporary cities hide and reveal. Radical Data, a resident project at Canòdrom, and elii, Office of Architecture, will share experiments in urban spaces where technology and environmental concerns intersect.

When you open a web page or send a message, what really happens? The internet isn't an ethereal cloud. It's cables, boxes, nondescript buildings, beaches and seas where submarine connections are buried. Physical infrastructure that goes unnoticed in the heart of the city. Internet Tour is a tour of the places nobody visits. The points where the Internet flows through.
Since 2018, collective walks have been held in different neighbourhoods and cities to make these hidden architectures visible, from data centres in industrial estates to the beach sand, where the cables that connect continents lie. In this edition, we will explore the area around the Canòdrom to trace the internet's trail back to the facility. We will be joined by visual artist Mario Santamaria, who has devised the route, and architects from Col·lectiu Punt6, taking notes on how these infrastructures shape our daily lives. We will document the route and post it online so that anyone can follow it.
