What is the Colla de les Dades?

The Colla de les Dades is a collaborative space open to people of various profiles who share a passion for free knowledge and the potential of open data. Through practical and flexible sessions, we want to promote innovative projects using open data tools, platforms and repositories. We invite everyone, regardless of their technical level, to present ideas, debate, share knowledge and explore new ways to use data. Our goal is to create alternatives to traditional data management models, promoting digital sovereignty and collective intelligence.

What can I expect?

Meet other people with an interest in having a civic impact using data and technology. Learn about data or about civic space by doing projects about our city. Propose new projects or approaches to current problems in Barcelona that can be solved with data.

Do you need to know how to program?

No. People of all kinds can contribute with what they know. For example, if you know how to design, you can do design. If you know about communication, you can propose how to make a campaign about a project. If you know about youth, migration, mobility or some problem of the city, you can come and contribute your vision and experience.

Do I need to bring anything?

A good attitude and a desire to share and meet people also help. In addition to that, bring your tools. If you design, program or analyze data, we recommend bringing a computer.

I would like to learn to program. Can I learn here?

La Colla de les Dades is a project group. The people who come often learn by doing projects, and this is a friendly space where we all share what we know. However, at our meetings we do not give coding classes. But the Canòdrom does! Do you only speak Catalan?

No! We also speak Spanish, English and sometimes Portuguese. Everyone is welcome :)
