Video games are one of the most influential media of our contemporaneity. Although they are a cultural product, as well as a high-impact technological product, video games have not been included in the fights for digital rights. Just recently there have been created public policies and mechanisms for their promotion.

There are many reasons that lead us to address the debate on the defense of digital rights in video games: data extractivism, dark design patterns that generate addictive behaviors, lack of transparency in algorithmic products, systematic harassment in multiplayer worlds, lack of diversity, precariousness and the absence of labor rights and unions in the industry. We bring together public agents and gaming professionals with the aim of working towards the regulation and public protection of video games.
