Are you tired of wasting hours on social media without realizing it? Many of the most popular platforms (Instagram, YouTube, TikTok…) are designed to hack your brain and keep you glued to the screen, all to show you ads and make money: you are the product and your attention is the currency. However, there is an alternative, open-source, and decentralized solution called “Fediverse”. In reality, it comprises many platforms, designed and developed by people who want social networking tools genuinely made without hidden agendas. In this event, we will introduce some of these platforms: Mastodon, Peertube, PixelFed, Mobilizon… and help you understand them a little better.
