From passive consumption to collective making: FENT breaks in to reflect on and imagine sustainable alternatives.

Space for Dialogue and Reflection

This session opens up a shared space for reflection on the role of open knowledge repositories in the current context of making and citizen-led production. Taking El-Recetario.net as a case study, we propose a conversation with practitioners from the maker world, digital fabrication, education, design, and the digital commons.

The gathering aims to explore the role that open platforms should play today: how we document and share material knowledge, which making practices are emerging, what infrastructures communities need, and how we can imagine tools that are useful, alive, and collectively governed.

At a time when social networks have profoundly transformed how we generate and share content, the activity becomes a living table of ideas to rethink the futures of making and shared knowledge.

With the participation of:

Susanna Tesconi. Learning environment designer and researcher. UOC, Breakers Project.
Fran Díaz. Lecturer at BAU and initiator of Autofabricantes.
Oscar Ciuró. Coordinator of the MakerConvent project.
