Reimagining the city from the perspective of shade—not just when the next heatwave hits. The Department of Umbrology invites you to a new activation of Sensitive Shadows (*Ombres sensibles*) in front of the Canòdrom. It is an open space for study, raising awareness, and debating adaptation and protection in the face of the climate emergency.
The day will feature ephemeral architecture prototypes, climate literacy workshops, opacity protocols, and a "Disputation in the Shade," where a proposed ordinance regarding the urban right to shade will be open for consultation. The goal is to center the importance of building genuine grassroots climate sovereignty starting from the shade.
Cities' responses to climate change cannot be merely reactive—triggered only when the sun is blazing or we are suffering through heatwaves. We must learn to think about our cities in terms of shade and its seasonal nature throughout the year—and perhaps, in the process, become a new kind of people: a people of the shadows?

Pensar la ciudad desde la sombra, no sólo cuando llega la siguiente ola de calor. El Departamento de Umbrología invita a una nueva activación de Sombras sensibles frente al Canódromo. Un espacio abierto de estudio, sensibilización y debate sobre la adaptación y protección frente a la emergencia climática.
A lo largo de la jornada habrá prototipos de arquitectura efímera, talleres de alfabetización climática, protocolos de opacidad y una disputa a la sombra, donde se abrirá a consulta una propuesta de ordenanza por el derecho urbano a la sombra. El objetivo es poner en el centro la importancia de construir una verdadera soberanía climática popular desde la sombra.
La respuesta de las ciudades al cambio climático no puede pensarse sólo de manera reactiva, cuando hace un sol de justicia o sufrimos oleadas de calor. Es necesario aprender a pensar nuestras ciudades desde la sombra y su estacionalidad durante todo el año y, quizás, convertirnos, en este proceso, en un nuevo pueblo: ¿un pueblo de las sombras?
