In this second meeting organized by the Directorate for Democratic Innovation Services and the Barcelona Municipal Data Office, we will explore how open data can be a key tool to combat fake news and improve the quality of the information we consume.

We will also discover the innovative ideas from students participating in the Hackathon “Unmasking the Truth: Tackling Fake News Together,” driven by the European university alliance EUTOPIA, explore the experiences of the Colla de les Dades meetings, discover the work done by Verificat, the first fact-checking platform of Catalonia, and reflect on the art of transform data into communicative narratives through StoryData projects.

It will be a space to connect with journalists, social media experts, civil society organizations, and open data specialists to generate real proposals that strengthen informational transparency and have ane impact into public policies. If you are concerned about disinformation and want to see how open data can be part of the solution, this event is for you!

Organized by: Canódromo Technical Office and the Barcelona Municipal Data Office.
